A New Day

I am so overwhelmed by all of your sweet comments & emails. I feel so much love and support from all of my blog friends. A lot of you had fantastic suggestions and ideas and even some job leads for my husband and I. We still aren't sure what we are going to do with this new curveball life has thrown at us, but somehow time and sleep has helped improve my outlook about this whole situation.

Seeing this today has also reset my perspective on life...

We had our 19 week ultrasound today and found out we are having another girl - and most importantly, she is perfectly healthy. I don't know why we are having these trials in our life right now, but I do have beautiful, healthy children, a husband who would walk over hot coals for me, and love in my home. I have no idea what our situation will look like in 6 months, but I think I'm pretty lucky.

Some of you asked what our experience is so you can keep your eyes and ears open for job leads. I appreciate that offer so much, so let me give you some details...

I have lots of customer service experience (new home-building industry), CRM/database implementation & maintenance, and even some medical billing and transcription. Pretty much, any kind of office work is right up my alley.

My husband is a fixed wing pilot. His flight experience has been in freight, flying cargo to various destinations. He was also previously employed as a flight instructor. He has over 3000 hours of multi-engine time and is anxious to get back in the cockpit. He loves flying.

I will post my Arizona Blog Hop feature this evening, but I wanted to make sure to respond to all of your amazing notes of encouragement. I can feel your prayers lifting my spirits and helping me see the big picture. I haven't met most of you, but that makes it even more meaningful that you all would care so much about my family and I. I heart you all! :)

  2. So sorry to hear about your job loss today. The job market is scary right now.

On the positive side, I love your blog. I just started one for saving money today on Blogger. I don't know much about it yet so I'm hoping to learn more. All the links in your right margin are great!

I have a Facebook page where I post offers too. It's here:

I'd love it if you have a chance to drop by.

God bless your family. Hopefully this door closing will be the opportunity for another door to open that is even better!

  3. I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it. I was let go about a year ago because the boss didn't have the funds to pay my wages any longer. Our family went through a fiery succession of trials for almost a year. But...those trials held numerous blessings in disguise. Our home loan was modified, and all the other serious issues worked out for the better. I do not have to work now. In fact I now contribute through couponing because of it. I don't know if your a believer or not, but if you are trust that He has something coming down the pike and that He will carry you through. It might not be what you expect though. Consider the desires of your heart. I am amazed at how our situation worked out. Try as best as you can to focus on the positive aspects of being out of work right now. Like getting ready for your new addition. Spending quality time with your family. Like a previous reader recommended, I too suggest looking into the state health care plan. It will take care of your needs and reduce your stress...very important. That is one area that you will not have to worry about once it's dealt with. I too will be praying for strength for your family to ride it out and for your situation to be resolved and your household better for it.

May God bless you and those you hold dearest to you.

  4. Pretty insightful post. Never thought that it was this simple after all. I had spent a good deal of my time looking for someone to explain this subject clearly and you’re the only one that ever did that. Kudos to you! Keep it up.

  6. Have you tried looking into State or Federal Jobs? There may be some possible Full time positions Avail.. for you and your hubby's field. Check out some Colleges, local Schools, and Banks, just to name a few. The best way I found a position was to thumb through the yellow pages and just look in your local area of possible hiring. Not all businesses will advertise that they are hiring in the local paper or online. Just call some places that you think you may be interested in and ask :).

Congrads.. on another Healthy baby girl.

  7. Wow- I just read your post and wanted to let you know that I'll keep your family in my prayers. Both my husband and I have been laid off before- so I completely understand how that it...

And I was laid off while I was pregnant, too, which is hard. But, I believe everything happens for a reason, so there must be something bigger and better out there for you. :) Congrats on your baby girl, too!

  8. Stumbled upon your blog today. I am amazed at your coupon skills. I have seen coupon blogs before but $100 grocery budget for a year! Wow! Congrats on the little one. I know that we saw the greatest miracles happen when we had the faith to have children even when things didn't seem completely lined up for that to work out! I have faith that you will see that too!

  9. I always read your blog however am embarrassed that I have not had time to coupon (ok, ok I havent made the time) Although I really should, I think I am going to lay low for awhile. Our family eats organic and gluten free and much of the free or low priced items we could obtain through coupons are of no use to us on a restricted diet. If you are interested, I will gather up my coupons for you over the next week (they are all over the house). I have most of the newspaper coupon inserts in order for the past six months in addition to the Catalina ones that I always receive at the register. Just email me if you would like them. I am sure you will benefit from them far more than I currently am and I do not want them to go to waste. You are so generous to keep up on all of this info for everyone else and it is truly appreciated. Also - check out PayPal jobs. There is a building on my way to work at Price and the 202 that says they are hiring. I am sure they have a need for many positions if they have not already filled up. steficalrow@gmail.com
