Wendy's $7 Gift Card

A few weeks ago, I was  I was recruited to participate in a Phoenix blogger event to try the new Wendy’s Pick 2 Menu. Wendy's treated us to our choice of the new Pick 2 Menu. There are four salads, baked potatoes, chili, bacon jr. cheeseburger, chicken wrap and a variety of drinks.

I chose the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad & a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. It was tasty and plenty of food.  I would totally pay $4.99 for it. The other thing that is amazing about the Pick 2 Menu is that it is not only reasonably priced, it also contains healthy choices!

The End of Arizona Savings

Wowza. How do I even start this?

After 6 weeks of searching for a job, I have bittersweet news... I found a job in Southern California, which means my family will have income again, but also means our family is relocating to Southern California. My beloved little blog, Arizona Savings is coming to an end.

This blog has served so many purposes for me. It has kept a record of the grocery savings I work so hard to get, a way to find deals, a conduit to share those deals with all of you, etc. But I also have gained friendships through this online hobby of mine. So many of you have offered encouragement and love through these past tough 6 weeks for my family as we searched for work. I appreciate all of you so much. In the future, I hope to launch a similar blog for the shoppers of Southern California. Heaven knows with their inflated prices, they need deals more than anyone!

I am already sad thinking about leaving my favorite grocery stores and this competitive grocery market. I will have Vons (which is a sister store of Safeway) and Albie's, but I have to say goodbye to Fry's & Bashas. I'll also still be able to shop at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart, and I am adding Rite Aid! As sad as we are to leave our good friends here in Arizona, we are excited to be moving back near family and where both my husband and I grew up.

I will leave this blog open because I feel like couponers can still benefit from the information I've posted. Plus, when I am ready to launch my new California coupon site, I will post that here as well, so you can follow my shopping adventures on the west coast. If you want to keep in touch with me, stay friends on Facebook and I'll let you all know when the new site is ready.

Okay, the sad news is over... now let's blow out the end of Arizona Savings with some give aways!

There are three give aways I'll be running at the same time. You can enter none of them or all of them - its totally up to you!

Here's how to enter:
Leave a comment letting me know what you enjoyed most about this blog. Whether it was a specific deal, a feature I did weekly, or anything else you enjoyed.

So, to recap, in your comment, let me know...
1. Which give away you are entering
2. What you enjoyed most about Arizona Savings
3. Your email address

The Rules...
1. One comment/entry per give away per person, so three comments total per person.
2. Give aways are open to US and Canadian residents ONLY.
3. Give aways will close on Saturday, October 30th, 2010 at 12pm AZ time.
4. The winners will be selected via random.org and the winners will be contacted by email. The winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize.

Give Away #1
Old El Paso Family Taco Night
The winner of give away #1 will receive an Old El Paso “Family Taco Night” prize pack which includes a packet of Old El Paso Taco Seasoning, a Cactus Chip & Dip Serving dish, a set of 3 Fiesta Chili Pepper serving dishes and a $10 gift card to purchase your taco fixings.

Disclosure: I was given an Old El Paso prize pack including a $10 gift card to facilitate the review of this product. Thanks to Old El Paso through MyBlogSpark for providing the products/gift card for the review and sponsoring the giveaway for one Arizona Savings reader.  All opinions expressed are my own and no other compensation was received.

Give Away #2
Pillsbury Sweet Moments Prize Pack

The winner of give away #2 will receive a “Sweet Moments” prize pack that includes 1 VIP coupon for Sweet Moments Brownies, along with a Sweet Moments t-shirt, magnet and necklace.

Even if you aren't the lucky reader who wins this give away, you can still snag an awesome high value coupon for Pillsbury's Sweet Moments products. During the month of October, if you send a Pillsbury e-card through Pillsbury's website or their Facebook page, you can send a $1.50/1 Sweet Moments coupon to a friend, plus you get one too!

Disclosure: I was given a Pillsbury Sweet Moments prize pack including VIP coupons to facilitate the review of this product. Thanks to Pillsbury through MyBlogSpark for providing the products/coupons for the review and sponsoring the giveaway for one Arizona Savings reader.  All opinions expressed are my own and no other compensation was received.

Give Away #3
9 Month Supply of Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamin with DHA

The winner of give away #3 will receive a 9 month supply of Nature Made Prenatal Multi-Vitamins with DHA. Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamins with DHA is the only OTC Prenatal Multivitamin + DHA in one single softgel per day. I personally LOVE that these prenatal vitamins are softgel. Any pregnant woman knows how awful prenatal vitamins taste, which does not help with nausea.

Disclosure: I was given a 9 month supply of Nature Made Prenatal Multi-Vitamins with DHA to facilitate the review of this product. Thanks to Nature Made through Ignite Social Media for providing the products for the review and sponsoring the giveaway for one Arizona Savings reader.  All opinions expressed are my own and no other compensation was received.

I look forward to reading your comments as I start this new adventure with my family. Thank you all again for your support, readership, and friendship. I look forward to linking all you readers up to my new California site as soon as we are settled. Until then, keep rockin' those deals at the stores! I'm cheering you on from California!

Out of the Blogging Office...

If there are any of you left still checking on my neglected blog, I'm sure you are wondering if I fell off the face of the earth. :) Nope, we're just super busy looking for employment.

For the near future, I won't be able to post any of my features - Mail Call Monday, My Favorite Deals on Wednesdays, or the AZ Blog Hop on Thursdays. I have to focus my time on finding employment, and unfortunately, that means blogging will have to take a back seat for a bit.

I will keep you all updated, but I thought I should check in and let you all know I miss you and I am missing out on all these great deals you are all snagging! Keep on couponing for me! I will be back into heavy couponing as soon as life settles down and we get some positive cash flow into this household!

Thank you all for your sweet emails and comments - I am truly blessed by these blogging friendships I've acquired over the past couple of years.

Hello from the Golden State!

We are out in California on the job hunt again! If you don't see regular posting from me, that's why. I will post as I can. Enjoy your weekend and come back early next week for a fun give away!

Mail Call Monday - Vacation Edition

I was out of town for a long weekend and came back to a stuffed mailbox. I love tons of freebies waiting for me when I get home!

FREE MAGAZINES- Surfer, Islands, 4 Wheel, Marie Claire, OK, Chevy High Performance
COUPONS- Bashas' home mailer! I love these! I think I'll take these to Fry's and use them there for maximum savings.
FREEBIES- Mickey & Pluto DVD from Disney Movie Rewards that I ordered last week.

AND NO GROCERY ADS!!!

This is a problem because I just got back in town last night and am headed back out of town tomorrow, so I don't have time to go hunt down the ads. So, I won't have the full match-ups this week, but I will compile a list of free or close to free things based off the online ads. Actually, I am focusing on the job hunt out in California, so click here to head over to Sheryl's blog for her awesome match-ups.

$27 Cat Food???

Remember the freebie coupon for dog & cat food we all signed up for a few weeks back? Well, I received mine in the mail this week. This was perfect timing because I was just about out of cat food. The coupon had to be redeemed at a specialty feed supply store, so I headed over to grab my free bag of cat food.

As it turns out, free is not always free.

Does this bag of cat food look like $27 to you? I would NEVER spend that much on food for my cat. Well, I grabbed the super expensive bag and headed up to the register. Turns out, I still had to pay tax on the cat food - $2.28! That is a ton of money to me! I paid it, but was irritated because it wasn't really free.

And the worst part... my snotty cat turned her nose up at it. She doesn't like it at all, but she is learning to like it because it was free and I'm not paying for more cat food!

Did you guys get your free coupon in the mail for pet food?

Quick Bookman's Trip!

I had about 10 magazines to trade in, so I headed over to Bookman's to see how much trade credit I could get. I was offered $12 in trade credit or 50 cents cash. Guess which one I took? :)

My husband loves the new Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. I saw it there, so I picked that up for $12. I only paid 10.80 in trade credit (minus my 10% kid's club discount).

I am using an internet image of the DVD case because Blogger is turning all my photos on their sides.

I love turning free magazines into DVDs!

If you've never been to Bookman's, click here to find the closest location so you can start trading too!

Free Things To Do This Weekend!

Why spend money entertaining the family this weekend when there are so many free activities going on?

Here are a few of my favorites:
Friday
6-10pm - First Fridays Self Guided Art Walk, Downtown Phoenix
The best way to get to know downtown Phoenix and experience its diverse culture is to hoof it -- take Artlink's monthly self-guided tour and visit the art galleries, shops, restaurants and bars that make downtown Phoenix a unique destination. From urban contemporary to high-end fine art, the eclectic mix of artwork has made this a must-attend event for more than a decade. Free shuttles get you from 'hood to 'hood and begin at the Phoenix Art Museum.

6pm - Movie in the Park - "Up", Kiwanis Park, Tempe
Watch "Up," an animated feature about a man who ties balloons to his house so that he can fulfill his lifelong dream of exploration. Once he is in the air, he discovers that he has a stowaway - an 8-year-old wilderness explorer. Bring blankets and a picnic dinner.

Saturday
9am-1pm - Butterfly Bash, Veterans Oasis Park, Chandler
Come and watch as Monarch butterflies migrate for the fall and pass through Veterans Oasis Park. The Monarch butterfly is celebrated with games, crafts, guided walks, presentations and information for participants to take home.

2pm - Volcom Stone Wild in the Park Championship, Peoria
Watch pre-qualified competitors skateboard in the park. The ultimate winner walks away with a $25,000 cash prize.

All Weekend
Tempe Oktoberfest, Tempe Beach Park
Celebrate the 38th anniversary of this three-day festival featuring polka dancing, multiple entertainment stages and a Kinderfest area with activities focused on children. Get a taste of the German culture with strudel, bratwurst and of course, beer. The beer garden is not only stocked with brews from Germany, but with beers from Ireland, France, China and the United States.

Winner of the $35 CSN gift certificate!

Congratulations to mamipdx - the winner of the $35 CSN gift certificate!

I will contact you with further instructions to collect your gift certificate.

Thanks to everyone who entered the give away.

Stay tuned, there are always more give aways right around the corner!
