Bookman's & a great mail day!

Over the weekend, I gathered up a stack of free magazines and some old books that were collecting dust, so I took those to Bookman's today. I got $15 in store credit and immediately bought Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3. We've been wanting to add the Pirates trilogy to our DVD collection and free was the right price! One of the DVDs was still in the original shrink wrap! I love that Bookman's gives you a 30 day guarantee to make sure all DVDs play. Why would you ever buy a new DVD?

Today was a great mail day! I got 2 free magazines, my free Oreos and $1/1 MQs from Kraft First Taste, and a free sample of Kashi cereal (including MQs, one being a free Q!). Tomorrow's the last day for grocery sales so if you haven't been to Bashas for .39 Quaker items, get there tomorrow!

  1. What's the deal at bookmans? so they give store credit for old books & magazines?? Does it matter what magazine? This is news to me.

  3. J- Bookman's is a wonderful place that KC over at Desert Deals Diva introduced me to. The closest one to us is Country Club & Southern. You can trade in old magazines, books, CDs, DVDs, board games, puzzles, etc. and they will either give you cash or store credit. I took a grocery bag of free magazines in plus a few old books and they offered me $4 cash or $15 store credit. I took the store credit and bought the Pirates DVDs (priced at $7 & $8 so $15 total). They don't ever take everything I bring in because they only accept things they think they can resell. But they have a HUGE selection of DVDs and CDs and a great children's section, so I would definitely check it out.

KC- Thanks again for introducing me to this wonderful place. I am officially addicted. :)

  5. Your welcome! I find that going in every 2 weeks is a good use of my time, keeps the magazines current enough for them to take most, but not going in so often that it becomes a chore! What is nice is that all credit is equal there, (it used to be different), so we usually get kids books or other mags with our credit, however we sometimes get dvds or other electronics that we need and find in the store. I love free stuff!
